Signing with a toddler who is not Deaf

YB

My son is two, hearing, and currently signs more than he speaks. I am Deaf, my partner is hearing.

We are trying to keep both languages genuinely equal rather than letting spoken language quietly take over as he gets older.

Anyone further down this road? Particularly interested in what happened once school started.

Mine are nine and six now. School was the pressure point. What held it together was keeping sign the home language rather than the lesson language.
